As Massachusetts gets buried under more than a foot of snow (LOVE!), I’m having a snow day sale! All patterns in my Ravelry store are 40% off (no code required. The discount will be applied automatically at checkout. Store here: http://www.ravelry.com/stores/melissa-labarre )
I’ll be enjoying the snow from the window, and finishing up a baby version of my Little Hiker’s Cardigan, since the pattern has been done for ages. I’ll also be baking, and slowly adding back all the photos to my recently hacked, then restored, blog.
Happy knitting, and shoveling, for some of us!
The Violet Bonnet and Violet Cap patterns from Making zine are now available individually! Both patterns are 35% off until Sept. 9th, no code required.
This past winter, a sweet little pile of knits helped keep me warm as I worked on them each night after my kids were asleep. The end result, 3 cardigans, a stripey blanket and a bonnet, patterns in sizes newborn to 4t. I designed all of them for Manos del Uruguay yarns, in 4 different weights of their superwash yarns!

I’ve been anxiously awaiting this day, so that I can share one of the many things that has kept me busy this year. Meet Wool Baby, my 4 piece baby collection, for Quince and Co. I love it so much, and had so much fun choosing from all of Quince’s beautiful colors. One blanket, 2 cardigans, and a sweet little bonnet are included in this ebook for $12. Sized birth-24 months. You can purchase them here. See the patterns Mae, Arlo, Elmer, and Aziza on Ravelry here. I hope that you like them!
I have 2 sick kiddos and a bunch of deadlines looming, but I’ll be back later this week with more to share, including a simple recipe that my family is crazy about.
My oldest daughter is starting preschool very soon, and she’s been asking me to knit her some new things. The program has a big outdoor component, so I let that be the inspiration for my design. 3-year-olds can have some very strong opinions about clothing, so it was a huge relief when she declared it “not itching” and then begged to wear it on an 80 degree day. Color this mama relieved!
I wrote this in 4 sizes, from baby-adult, since I was sure I’d want to knit one for myself and my younger daughter. The yarn is Trusty, from the Plucky Knitter, in the gorgeous “Old Copper” (I am a sucker for any green-y blues. Or, is it blue-y greens?).
So, here is the Lu Leaf Hat. The pattern is 50% off through August (there’s no code required. the discount will come off automatically at checkout). You can see/purchase it here.
My newest baby and toddler pattern is out! The Wee Wonderland Cardigan is knit from the top-down, with a longer body, and a picked up edging. It comes in sizes 0-6 months through 24-36 months!
